Commissioner of Education: Mila Koekoek
Commissioner of Public Relations: Lucas Langerak
President
Eden Baas
Heyhey!
I'm Eden (they/them) and I may call myself the new president of the 70th board! I am handling a ton of different tasks than I did last term, when I was still secretary. For example, I now lead the board meetings and General Member Meetings, and I keep the best possible overview of everything that is going on within the association and the board.
I am a second-year marine scientist and therefore still the only marine scientist in the Biologica board. Besides studying and being board, I am currently in two committees, namely the ArtCie, with whom I organise artistic activities, and the PromoCie, which I just joined and will be helping in making new Biologica merchandise (and of course I am still BIKcie at heart, since it really doesn’t leave you).
Whenever I have a moment to myself there are a lot of different things I like to do, since I still tend to pick up new hobbies every week. Things that have stuck for a while are playing guitar, juggling, reading, annoying my friends about “Bears in Trees” and crafting a selection of things like bracelets, crocheted stuff and drawings.
If you ever don’t know where to sit during uni times or if you just want to ask a question, don’t be scared to drop by the Hok since there is almost always a board-member and a lot of other members present!
Hopefully I’ll see you soon!
With love,
Eden 🙂

Secretary
Merel Talens
Hey everyone,
I’m Merel (she/her) and I am the new secretary of the 70th board! As secretary, besides all the other general board tasks, I take minutes during the board meetings and GMM, sort the email, and ensure that the member database stays up to date.
I became active at Biologica through (surprise, surprise) the BIKcie! After being in the BIKcie for a while, I became more interested in other committees and joined the BOA and the BEC. I’m still a member of both and enjoy it a lot. Additionally, I’m a member of Tartlétos, the student athletics association, where I train (when I have time) to get some exercise after spending so much time behind my laptop. If I have any time left, I enjoy reading a book or hanging out with friends.
I’m currently a second-year biology student. This academic year, I’m taking courses from specialization D (Ecology), but I’ll likely switch to the new program next year, which allows for more flexibility in choosing different courses (I find too many subjects interesting, and I really can’t choose). So if you know any fun courses I should take, let me know!
You can often find me in the Hok, so if you want to have a nice chat or play a game, be sure to stop by!
Greetings
Merel
Treasurer
Matti Brandon
Hi people,
My name is Matti (he/him), and I will be your new treasurer! That means that I’ll try to prevent our association from financially crashing into the abyss. As general member you won’t notice too much of my work, but all committee members will have to fear me for the coming year (declare your receipts on time).
Right now I’m a third-year biologist with specialisation D – for the young’uns without specialisations, that means ecologist. My interest in ecology is also why I became active within Biologica: having attended nearly all BOA activities in my first year I joined them after the nature weekend. BOA presidency came soon after, until the time came for something new: THE BOARD!!! But I’m still an active member of the BOA, and I’m also in the BEC with whom I hope to deliver an unforgettable journey across borders.
Outside of my Biologica life I’ve got way too many hobbies. The main ones are squash, sports in general, making music (guitar/bass/vocals), observing and identifying species (bees in particular), playing fighting games and cooking. A lot of activities you can do alone, but which are a lot of fun to do with others as well. So if you’d like to do any of the aforementioned things together or if you wanna talk about weird species, hit me up in the Hok! It’s become my second place of residence, so there’s a good chance you’ll encounter me.
Greetings
Matti

Commissioner of Committees
Ilse Langeslag
Hello all,
I'm Ilse (she/her) and right now I'm in my second term as Commissioner of Committees or as I prefer ComCommer :). As my function already states, I love committees! It's a good way to keep myself busy when I'm not doing board stuff. Right now I'm in the BAC, AlmanakCie and PromoCie. Besides in the Hok you can find me on the volleybalcourt at WaHo, where I try to reach above the net (I'm 165 cm, which makes me again the smallest of the board…). And if I have some free time left I love to play card and board games (not so much when I lose) and hanging out with friends! Oh and not to forget I'm also studying of course😅. Right now in my third year of Biology, but I won't finish my bachelors this year because I have an exchange on the planning for next year! For right now I'm really looking forward to the next half year with the 70th board❤️
If you ever feel like having a chat or drink a cup of tea together you can find me in the Hok :)
With love,
Your ComCommer
Commissioner of Education
Mila Koekoek
Hello everyone!
I am Mila (she/her), the Commissioner of Education of the board since June! You can contact me with all questions about the study of Biology and Marine Sciences. Besides posing for the attached photo, I also attend meetings of the PC (Program Committee) of Biology, organize meetings with other study commissioners in Wageningen, go to the LOBS (National Consultation Biology Students), work with the EducaCie to keep the guides and everything related to the readers up-to-date and provide self-study rooms during the self-study, exam and resit weeks! Random fact: I am called mom within our board.
I have become active within Biologica at the MeeCie, a committee that organizes walk-along days. I am also a member of the EducaCie and I recently joined the SymposiumCie. Besides all this at our great study association, I am a third-year biology student with specialization B and I actually have time for hobbies: reading, drawing, cooking, running, doing fun things with friends and a good conversation every now and then.
If you have any questions or just want to have a chat, don't hesitate to look me up!
Your StuCom,
Mila

Commissioner of External Relations
Famke Jurriëns
Heyy, my name is Famke Jurriëns (she/her), and I am the Commissioner of External Relations of the 69th and 70th board of b.v.w. ‘Biologica’. I’m a third-year Biology student and completed the "Adaptation and Development" specialization, with a special love for evolutionary biology and paleontology. Outside of my studies, I like to paint, sew, and dabble in filmmaking, basically anything creative. I also enjoy music, reading, movies, games, and of course, a good drink every now and then.
As Commissioner of External Relations, I handle all contact with companies outside of our association, which is a fancy way of saying I bring in sponsorship money. My goal for this half year is to establish a sponsorship committee, as the workload of the Commissioner of External Affairs has significantly increased due to the rise in sponsorships. This committee will serve as a support group to help with fulfilling certain contract obligations or finding and reaching out to new sponsors.
If you ever have questions, want to chat, or feel like playing a game, come find me! Het Hok is basically my second home so there is a large chance I’m already there :)
Lots of love,
Famke
Commissioner of Public Relations
Lucas Langerak
Hello hello,
I’m Lucas (I'he/him) and since February I am Commissioner of Public Relations, but just ‘PR’ is also fine. I make sure everyone knows what’s going on with Biologica. I’m also responsible for making sure we’re looking good online. In short, I’m just parading with flair and charm.
I started with Biologica at BITE (DikCie back then) and later Botanica. I never would have thought I was going to be board of Biologica, but ever since that first meeting I was immediately sold. Besides board I’m also active at IntrodukCie, SymposiumCie, ScriptCie and Botanica. I’m in my 4th year of my bachelor and I’m slowly finishing my bachelor this year.e jaar van mijn bachelor en ben langzaam mijn bachelor ook aan het afronden dit jaar.
In my spare time I like to read, getting a drink with friends and doing a lot of odd jobs. Which, when I became Board, quickly made me Dad of the Board, so if you’ve got questions about your broken bicycle, wood or other repairs, drop by the Hok for a chat(or just ‘gezellig’ for coffee)!
Love, Lucas
